ASHA Youth Club Raises $4,000 for Scholarships with Equine Artists

ASHA Youth Club Raises $4,000 for Scholarships with Equine Artists

Lexington, Kentucky - In September 2007, the Blue Willow Farm’s ASHA Youth Club of Versailles, Kentucky, the Blue Willow Brigade, launched their successful fund-raising campaign: Equine Artists. The concept of Equine Artists was simple and extremely fun, but an immense amount of hard work was exerted by the Youth Club and participants. They put a long paintbrush into a carrot, dipped the brush in paint, gave a horse its “treat” and let the horse paint on a piece of paper.

The original goal of 20 paintings was surpassed early on, as they came out on top with 60 equine paintings in total. The Blue Willow Brigade thought the Lexington Junior League Horse Show would be the perfect place to host a silent auction for the equine paintings. They couldn’t have been more right! The bidding started at $35.00 for each painting and reached $200.00. After covering the cost of supplies, the brilliant and bodacious Blue Willow Brigade raised $4,000 for ASHA Youth Scholarships. Their donation to benefit ASHA Youth is commendable, and an example of philanthropic work at its best!  For the entire list of participants, both horses and people, and those who Blue Willow Brigade wish to offer special thanks to for their help and support,
