Thailand Hosts Their First FEI Endurance Competition

The First ever FEI Endurance Competition took place at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya, Thailand on the 10th October 2008.

The competition immediately followed an FEI Course for Officials that was hosted by the Thai Equestrian Federation at which some 28 delegates attended from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.

The course was held over two days and included a practical session at the CEI competition that followed.

The Delegates were able to witness an exciting day of competition which involved a challenging course over 80kms in the picturesque region around the Polo Club. The track was created through the tropical jungle areas and involved an ascent to a small plateau which gave the competitors a panoramic view of the city of Pattaya and its famous beaches.

Nine Riders and horses entered this inaugural event and the competition was won by Yootthachai Tummarit riding jao Vahaat at an average speed of 14.31kph.

The facilities which had been created at the vet gate were of the highest standard and all those involved, both taking part and Officiating, congratulated the Organisers on their work and considerable efforts to make the first event in Thailand such a success’.
