Additional Major Equine Organizations Partner With ELCR

The Equestrian Land Conservation Resource (ELCR) is pleased to welcome three new members into its Equestrian Partner program: New York Horse Park, Equitrekking and Camelot Equestrian Park Foundation.

The New York Horse Park strives to be an economic engine that preserves green space and provides a new educational, recreational and competition venue for horse enthusiasts.  The Park relies on community and public support to bring this exciting initiative from concept to reality. The organization is currently raising funds needed for promotional and educational materials, for a site selection feasibility study and for future fund-raising and community awareness events. As the project moves forward the New York Horse Park will acquire land, prepare architectural plans and construct a facility that will be enjoyed by equestrians and equine enthusiasts.

Equitrekking is the first travel television series to explore the world on horseback. Host and equestrian travel expert Darley Newman leads viewers around the globe in search of the best in equestrian travel and brings a passion for horses and travel to Equitrekking. Exploring on horseback, viewers gain a greater sense of each location's diverse natural surroundings, wildlife, culture, and history. The fall 2008 lineup features travel adventures in Belize, Quebec, Costa Rica, Texas, Arizona, Utah and Kentucky.

Located in Butte Valley, Northern California, the Camelot Equestrian Park has miles of meandering horse riding and hiking trails, picnic areas, a beautiful shaded campground, turnouts and paddocks for traveling horses, dressage arenas, stadium jumping arena, a cross-country schooling course, and much more. The park hosts competitions in dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, vaulting, cutting, polo, ride and tie, rodeo, and trail rides.

The Equestrian Partners Program is a growing coalition of organizations from across the country that are committed to helping ELCR fulfill its mission of conserving land and access for all equines.  Despite their diverse interests and activities, our Partner members recognize that with land in the U.S. being developed at the rate of 250 acres per hour, the future of our lives with horses as we know it know is in dire jeopardy.  Equestrian Partners network through ELCR and promote ELCR’s mission to their various members, constituents, donors, etc.  If your organization would like to join our national efforts to save land for horses, visit www.elcr.org, or call (859) 455-8383 for more information.
