Anky Van Grunsven Takes Gold in Grand Prix Freestyle

Anky Van Grunsven and her horse Keltic Salinero were the last to perform in the Grand Prix freestyle final round, saving the best for last. The pair finished off the competition with a superb freestyle performance, clinching the gold title for the Netherlands by over 4 percentage points. Germany was also well represented in the finals, with Isabell Werth receiving the silver and Heike Kemmer the bronze.

This is Van Grusven's third gold medal in Grand Prix freestyle, the second with Keltic Salinero. Steffen Peters and Ravel from the United States finished just outside the medal podium in forth place.

The individual jumping competition is the last of the equestrian events, and will resume Thursday.
