A federal ban on the transportation of horses in double-decker trailers has been introduced. The bill, if passed, would amend title 49, United States Code, to prohibit the transportation of horses in trailers with two or more levels stacked on top of one another.

Introduced by Representative Mark Kirk (R-IL) and 13 other co-sponsors, the bill has been referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for review.
