Saddlebred Trainer David “Dave” Earl Clarke Mourned

Lexington, Kentucky - David Earl Clarke, 80, died at his home on June 20, 2008. He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina, November 15, 1927 to the late Dan and Louise Parker Clarke. He was a self employed American Saddlebred trainer for the majority of his life and was involved with such greats as, WGC CHWild-Eyed And Wicked, CHSweetest Victory, WGCCHBuck Rogers and CHThe Jazz Singer. He was also a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association and attended Faith Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Prichard Clarke. He is survived by his son: Redge Clarke of Lexington, Kentucky, daughters: Debra Levine of Roslyn, New York, Pamela Logan of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Teresa Clarke of Lexington, Kentucky. 3 grandchildren: Seth Logan, Whitney Logan, and Justin Clarke. Brother: Phillip Clarke of Woodbridge, Virginia, Sister: Dorise Puckett of Gastonia, North Carolina, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and many friends in the horse business.

Memorials may be made to the American Saddlebred Museum 4083 Iron Works Parkway Lexington, Kentucky 40511.
